The LD50 can be powered by either CR123A batteries or 18650 cells, giving you a couple of different configurations. You can power it with both an 18650 and CR123A batteries in separate battery compartments or light up one of the dual LEDs with either one 18650 or two CR123A batteries in its corresponding battery compartment. Now that is true versatility. You can monitor the power being used in the LD50 by the low voltage warning function. You also don't have to worry about shorting out the batteries or damaging the light because it is waterproof in accordance with IPX-8 standards.
